Walkaround video

  • Very exceptional, new delivered in France first series 4.2, 2 seater coupé
  • Full history known and documented, including the recent professional top restoration.
  • Matching numbers, matching colors except for the interior which was originally black but now in the most beautiful and most sought-after color combination
  • Hard to do better, best of the best, with an overly complete file from 1965 to 2024 and super finishing really something for the most demanding E type fan, without a doubt the most exceptional model (first series 4.2)
  • The asking price for the finished car in perfect condition would not cover the cost of the restoration today!

The E-Type Series 1 was released as a GT Coupé and as a convertible, with the 3.8L engine from the XK150S. This happened in March 1961, first in Europe, a month later the Americans got to know him under the name XK-E. The E-Type was almost immediately labeled as 'revolutionary', in that zeitgeist there is no denying that. The sports car was first and foremost cheaper than its antagonists. The first 500 models were sold with flat floor, which benefited the aerodynamics of the car. In addition, the design and specifications thereof were unprecedented and groundbreaking. The car was standardly equipped with three SU carburetors feeding a 3.8L inline six-cylinder engine, providing 265 hp.

In 1964, the engine displacement was increased to 4.2L, the suspension became independent, and disc brakes were added on all four wheels. The trunk emblem that was also added in the revision in 1964 provides a visual distinction between the 3.8L and the 4.2L, and also the seats were different and significantly more comfortable than the 3.8L seats. From 1966 a 2+2 coupé version was available, with extended wheelbase and optionally an automatic gearbox.
