We are proud to offer this stunning Innocenti Spider 1100S from 1963, a rare gem guaranteed to turn heads. Designed by Ghia and built by OSI, this model marked the debut of Tom Tjaarda's designs for Ghia, the renowned creator of the iconic De Tomaso Pantera. The Spider combines the British chassis of the Austin-Healey Sprite with a refined Italian body, resulting in a unique and timeless convertible.
This model is equipped with the rare 1100cc engine option (most models featured a 950cc engine), delivering an exceptional driving experience. The engine, derived from the BMC A40, was upgraded to 1098cc, producing 58 hp, allowing a top speed of 145 km/h. Starting in 1963, the Spider also featured front disc brakes and subtle aesthetic updates.
Ferdinando Innocenti, renowned for Lambretta scooters, aimed to introduce an affordable yet stylish convertible. The Spider reflects the classic design language of the era, featuring rear-wheel drive and subtle rear fins. Production took place at OSI near Milan, with final assembly at the Innocenti factory in Lambrate.
With only 2,047 units of this "S" model produced, primarily for the Italian market, this car is an exceptionally rare find.
