This 1971 Triumph TR6 was originally delivered in the United States and has been in Belgium for several decades. This classic car retains its charm with the original 15-inch steel wheels fitted with Michelin XVS tires and exudes an authentic vintage style in its stunning "Sapphire Blue" color combined with the matte black rear. Recently, both the engine and gearbox have been professionally overhauled, providing an unparalleled driving experience and reliability. Additionally, the TR6 is equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system and a new set of carpets in the trunk, enhancing both the vehicle's appearance and functionality. It also features a racing fuel cap that makes refueling easier.
The original character of this car stands out with its wooden dashboard, original leather sports steering wheel (often replaced with a wooden steering wheel), wooden gear shift knob, and 1980s cassette deck. The vinyl sports seats with integrated headrests are also original and very comfortable and supportive. The upholstery, however, has seen better days, but the plastic top is in good condition except for a small folding hole.
Under the hood, you will find the renowned 2.5-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, equipped here with a polished valve cover and fed by two dual sports carburetors that replace the original Strombergs, adding about 15-20 horsepower. The last technical inspection in 2024 was positive, indicating the car's excellent condition. According to the Car-Pass mileage history, the TR6 has only driven 12,000 miles since 2000. This mileage is supported by a comprehensive maintenance history documented with invoices detailing every aspect of the car's maintenance and care. The vehicle comes with Belgian papers.
In conclusion, we can state that it is a very original survivor that has recently received the appropriate (significant) investments and maintenance, but due to its presentation, it should be described as an older restoration in reasonable condition. There is a lot of welding on the underside; the repairs have been carried out according to the rules of the art (solid) and are visible during inspection on the lift. It is ready to drive, but with the possibility of improving the visual appearance. This is also reflected in the price. With its perfectly preserved character and recent professional renovations, this Triumph TR6 offers a unique opportunity for classic car enthusiasts looking for a reliable and stylish ride without breaking the bank.
