The V8 Vantage was produced from 2005, and was replaced by the Vantage in 2018. Externally, it is in line with the DB7, which appeared in 1993. They are also designed by the same designer, the American- Danish Henrik Fisker.
At the front, we find the famous grille called "policeman's hat", present since the DB4 of 1959. At the rear, the headlights are more or less those of the DB9, its big sister born in 2004. Inside, the driver is seated very low, which does not prevent the convertible from being equipped with relatively comfortable comfort in this category. Let's not forget that road-going Aston Martins have always been described as Grand Tourers, not supersports like a rear-engined Ferrari, for example. Built on the VH platform, an extruded aluminum chassis inspired by aeronautics and shortened compared to the DB9.
A convertible version was presented almost simultaneously the following year and, unlike all previous convertibles of the brand, it was no longer called "Volante", but "Roadster". The soft top opens in 18 seconds and this, while driving up to 50 km/h. Of course, like almost all convertibles, the car is heavier (88 kilos more than the coupé).
