This version is part of the V series.
From 1963, the 4/4 receives the Ford 116E engine with a displacement of 1498 cc, then in 1968 it is fitted with the Ford Kent engine with 1599 cc. A “competition” version has been added to the range, featuring the more efficient Ford 1600 GT engine. From 1971, all models in the 4/4 range are fitted with the Ford Kent 1600 GT engine.
In 1982, the 4/4 is available with either a Fiat 1,584 cc engine or the new Ford CVH 1,597 cc engine fitted to the Ford XR3i, coupled with an original Ford Cortina 5-speed gearbox. The 4/4 thus equipped, with a power of 96 hp at 6000 rpm, crosses 0-100 km / h in 10 s. From 1987, a change in the manufacturing process of all models is introduced: fenders are now painted separately before being subsequently assembled on the body, thus providing better protection against corrosion. From 1991, the 4/4 is fitted with the Ford EFI 1600 cc injection engine and from 1992 onwards with the brand new Ford Zetec electronic injection engine with 1800 cc displacement. From 1997, the body of the 4/4 can also be ordered in a “low line” version, that is to say with the wider body of the Plus 4. In 1999 a brand new 4-seater version is launched. of the 4/4 roadster.
