This beautiful car was bodied by 'Abbotts of Farnham' in 1933. Abbott already had the contract to build the bodies for Talbot, but this was the only Talbot with this breathtaking body with the amazing fin-tail. It was a 2/4 seater, a 2-seater that could be altered into a 4-seater by removing the metal deck behind the 2 front seats and sliding it away.
This model was designated the Talbot 105 and although there were other bodies by other coach-builders on this chassis, there was only one fin-tail. Abbott's advertising at the time referred to the fin-tail as "(the) pronounced feature is a stabiliser of the 'Bluebird' type." The hood is concealed when not in use.
The car won a Special Prize at a Concours d' Elegance in 1933 and was on Abbott's Stand (No 43) at the Motor Show at Olympia in 1933. The cost of the car was £875, which included the Talbot 105 chassis onto which Abbott's beautiful body was placed. The engine was a 2969cc 6-cylinder Talbot 105 series.
