The Ford LTD was produced in North America (USA and Canada), Australia and Brazil. Ford used the LTD badge from 1965 to 1991 in North America. The designation LTD was an abbreviation of "Luxury Trim Decor". However, the Australian market referred to it as "Lincoln Type Design". The displacement and power of the LTD have varied over time and models, ranging from 4.9 liters to 7.5 liters.
Second generation (1969-1978). For the 1969 model year, the LTD underwent a major overhaul. Based on a widely reported chassis, the wheelbase of all Ford full-size sedans now stretched to 121 inches. The second generation was produced from 1969 to 1978, in 7 different factories, including an additional one in Venezuela. Compared to the 1969-1970 model, the range 1971, not much had changed, except the grille and taillights.
