Ferrari 328 GTS – Rosso Corsa – 1987

The 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS, finished in the iconic Rosso Corsa with a black or beige leather interior, represents the very essence of Ferrari’s classic V8 line: sharply styled, mechanically refined, and to this day, impressively elegant. As the successor to the 1986 model year, this version builds upon the tried-and-true concept of the 328, with subtle improvements in finish and detail quality.

In fact, together with its direct predecessor, the 308 GTS, it continues the legacy of the iconic and decades-later highly appreciated Dino GTS. The idea was to create a lightweight sports car with an open roof, a spirited engine, and above all, driving pleasure combined with stunning looks.

The bodywork, designed by Pininfarina, exudes Italian elegance: muscular wheel arches, sharp lines and perfect proportions typical of Ferrari design from the 1980s. The GTS version features the popular targa roof, allowing for easy transition between coupé and open-air driving – a feature much loved by purists and driving enthusiasts alike.

Under the hood lies the renowned 3.2-liter V8 producing 270 hp, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The naturally aspirated engine is lively and delivers power in a linear fashion, accompanied by that unmistakable Ferrari soundtrack – powerful, raw and melodic. The driving dynamics are mechanical, pure and engaging, exactly what you expect from a classic analog-era sports car.

What sets the 1987 model apart from the earlier 1986 version are subtle but noticeable improvements in paint finish, electrical wiring, and overall assembly quality. Though technically identical, the 1987 edition feels slightly more refined in daily use, without sacrificing its pure mechanical character. This version also predates the introduction of ABS, meaning it retains the sought-after flat-spoke wheels and traditional braking system – features often preferred...

Thanks to technical evolution and the use of German components, the 328 blends visual flair with mechanical reliability, making it suitable for both relaxed drives, touring and more spirited driving.

This 328 was fully updated for maintenance in April 2025 after a longer wintering period: new timing belt, new brakes, new tires – ready for the summer, ready for a new life. It is certainly not the cheapest on the market, but quite possibly the best.
