In 1971, Mercedes-Benz revealed the successor to its legendary SL Pagoda: the SL type R107. No more Pagoda roof, but the SL still has its hard-top, a true trademark of the SL. But even more than the car itself, the SL type R107 symbolizes for an entire generation an image of American success.
