The Daihatsu Rocky (F70 / F80 series) is a small 4x4 produced from 1984, when a brand new factory opened in China. In 1994, it underwent a new styling.
The Rocky was a rugged all-terrain vehicle and a good alternative to the larger, more expensive SUVs. It was available in 3 doors, in a glass convertible and also in a sheeted version. It is one of the very first 4x4 for the Japanese market. The Rocky Wagon was also a three-door convertible, but with a large rear door to carry more items. The transmission option was only a five-speed manual. Like other 4x4s, it was offered with a short box and a long box. The Daihatsu Rocky was available in several engines: 1.6-liter gasoline; then 2 liters, and 2.3 liters; 2.8 liter diesel.
The Daihatsu Rocky is replaced by the Daihatsu Terios.
Since 2019, the name Rocky is used again under the code name A200 / A250. It obviously no longer has anything in common with the model offered by Oldtimerfarm.
